Known as a celebration of the cultural diversity of NYC and Queens, the Queens Night Market will be returning this April for its eighth season to the New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
The season will begin with two nights of previews on April 15th and 22nd with a limited number of tickets available for those nights, to alleviate traffic, capacity issues, and local community disruptions. Sneak Preview tickets will be available for purchase starting in March at Queens Night Market. All subsequent events will be free.
Over the past few years, the open-air night market has averaged over 15,000 attendees every week, helped launch 350 new businesses in NYC and represented more than 90 countries through their vendors and performers. Taking place every Saturday night starting mid-April, and with food prices capped at $5/$6, it is a great family friendly event. This year, the Night Market will be featuring as many as 100 independent vendors selling everything from food, to art, to merchandise, and will of course include many cultural performances throughout the season.
Some of the food offerings you can expect this year include Ethiopian sega wat, Singaporean mee pok, Peruvian ceviche, and so many other cuisines from around the world. Other non-food vendors include small-batch soap and candles, henna, international handmade items, ceramics, and even vintage apparel.
